Sounds like it's time to go tuna fishing. Isn't that extremely rare for a tuna to be that close to the beach in Jersey?

It is rare but not unheard of. Tuna have been caught in the surf in Brigantine and up in Seaside. I saw video of this fish flopping on the Longport jetty the day it happened.

They come in closer than we think but almost no one tries for them.

I caught a 33 lb yellowfin 8 miles off OC a few years ago. I had a live bait out hoping for a cobia.

Tom,

I have not been out as much as I would like. No unusual catches since those king mackerel last week. I've caught bait to try for sheepshead but haven't had the right weather and tide to go. Maybe next week.
