Bigcity Six Down

Unread postby bigcitybowhunter » Sat Oct 20, 2018 5:57 pm

I was hunting one of our best backyard stands Wednesday night. I had this bruiser 6 come up a drainage ditch and pass by me at 22yds. He did not stop to give me a shot. He was a nice buck. Definitely turned my crank.

So I went back there yesterday for the afternoon hunt. At last light the 6 comes up the drainage again. He stops behind a huge oak tree about 20yds from me. I can see his head and neck. He finally steps out and quarters hard to his right. I draw back and let the arrow go. I hear the arrow hit and he goes crashing back down the drainage.

PhillyArcher came over to help me track him. We had a good blood trail. We found the arrow and the shaft was broken about 5" from the tip. I was starting to fear a shoulder hit. We tracked him until we lost the trail.

I went back in the morning and found him not far from where we stopped. The shot was good quartering away on his left side arrow ran right up into the boiler room. I was so happy to find him. I saw him Wednesday night and killed him Friday night. So I had a history with him. It may have been brief but it is a history. Lol

What a nice solid rack. Congratulations.

Thanks guys. I am really happy to take this buck. I'm getting a skull mount done. I dropped the head off at Atlas Skull Cleaning today.
