Unread postby Finders Keepers » Wed Jun 08, 2016 8:01 am

While it is still early in the open water season, we are hard at work planning the statewide 2017 NYS Winter Classic Tournament. If you haven't heard of this event yet, it is a statewide event that runs from January 1st through February 28th every year, features 7 categories of fish in the general tournament (trout, northern pike, walleye, pickerel, crappie, yellow perch, and panfish), 2 categories of fish in the Catch & Release event (trout and northern pike), includes all methods of fishing (open water, ice, tributaries, etc.) for all NY State waterways, offers over 40 weigh-in stations across the state, online leaderboard updated mutliple times per day, has a cash payout for up to 20 places in each category plus an optional Lunker Pool, Weekly, Monthly, and Overall prizes, Angler Achievement Awards, and is one of the most sponsor supported winter tournaments in the country. Full details and prior year's results can be found at the tournament website: www.NYSwinterclassic.com

This year's event will kick-off with an amazing early-bird registration promotion in September. Full details of the promo and major announcements for the 2017 event will be released at the end of July once all negotiations and graphics development are finalized. Follow the event on Facebook and receive all the latest announcements and promotions!

Update:

We have now secured over $75k in cash and prizes to give away this year! We are also up to 53 weigh-in locations, each will have a shanty to give away! Anglers can gain entries by registering at a shop and for each time they weigh-in a fish (one entry per day per location with differnt fish). Shanties are being delivered to the stations over the next 3 weeks, so anglers can stop in to their local weigh-in to see the shanty being given away (Frabill, Clam, HT, Field & Stream, and Bass Pro Shops shelters), and we will have a full listing online as well. Check out our latest promo video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcbPNmSQPXE

If you are fishing in NY this comign Jan/Feb, you're going to want to be registered for this event! You could land a fish worth $1,000's!! Full details at: www.NYSwinterclassic.com
