Clarification to contest

Unread postby tomcbigbucks » Wed Oct 08, 2014 8:12 am

So first sorry for my confusion! As everyone is probably aware I messed last years contest up and it ended in a tie DOPE!!!
So when Brian offered to run it I was like yes thank you!! Brian has ran it for years on the barn with out ever having a tie, so we were are following that scoring system.
here's the clarification which I didn't post clearly, again sorry.
You can enter 3 deer total. Any combination ( 2 does+1 buck, 3 does, 1 doe,+ 1 buck"would be worth 5 pts only, scored as a doe" + 1 upgraded buck, 3 bucks, 2 would score as does and one as a buck)
Does are 5 points each and 1 buck would be 5 points plus 1 point for each legal 1 inch point( a 10 pointer would equal=15 points)

You can enter 3 does and later upgrade one doe to a buck.
Does this make sense. Just want fair and clear to all.

Brian thanks again and let me know if this is the way you usually do it.

so that is still a bit confusing when i read it haha so to just make sure I am clear.

you are ONLY allowed 3 deer... for the two additional deer worth 5pts it does not matter if they are does or bucks. Example: if you kill 3 bucks ONLY 1 of those bucks will be scored by the amount of points it has, the other two bucks would just be 5pts each same as if you killed two doe.

You can upgrade your buck 1 time and one time only.

Is this right?

Sounds good Tom thanks for the clarification. Sorry for any confusion. Also we had 5 man teams so we may have a tie with 3 man teams. The tie breaker is the team with the biggest buck. Thanks

Ok so if I enter 3 does and I kill a buck is that my one time upgrade? Or can I upgrade that 3rd doe and then upgrade the buck again later?

if you enter 3 doe intially and then replace a 5pt doe for a buck, that should not count as an upgrade as they are scored differently, you should still have the ability to upgrade your buck one time in the scenario you used above.

Probably best not to submit the 3rd doe right away just wait until the very end if extra points are needed and someone doesn't get a buck...to not confuse things haha

Upgrading a doe does not count as your upgrade. You can still upgrade a buck. I have it down now you guys can enter every deer you kill I will make sure to only add the correct points lol.
