Hey guys I'm going down the shore for the 4th. I'll be down there all week and would like to do some Flounder fishing. Whats happening any back bay action? Can you help a shoobie out?

"Down the shore" covers a lot of territory and reports for one area wouldn't be much use elsewhere. That said, here in Somers Point I had a good first 2 weeks. Then it turned poor for 2 weeks but it just started improving in the last few days. Nowhere is consistent. You have to work to find fish but I've had a good ratio of keepers.
My biggest fear is that when I die my wife will sell my guns and fishing rods for what I told her I paid for them.

Got out two weeks ago
Short trip 6 throwback 2 keepers incoming tide and dead high
Gulp
From what I hear you just have to put there.
Nothing can be biting then turn on for a few hours then shut off again

I have had my best luck around an hour or two before high tide , has seemed for me at least that its kind of a small window of maybe an hour or so where they wanna chew.. after that they seem to shut off like a light switch.. i did all my damage early on with minnows, couldnt get em to touch gulp... but I recently have been getting reports of good action on gulp so guess ill be trying it ahain...good luck
