I'd like to get a half dozen or so.....I love chestnuts and the Americans we have in our woods only make it about 10-15 years before the blight kills them. I have heard they developed a blight resistant American variety in Va. But they are not available to the public. I sent in a bunch of pollen strings and nuts about 10 years ago when they started on the project.

Yea supposedly. I dont know how they can call a tree that grows 100+ years blight resistant after only a few years of tweaking. I guess time will tell. Maybe one day our forests will have them back though. The good thing is they are cheap easy to grow and start producing fast. Im in the process of growing persimmons too from this beauty

Nice! I have a bunch of persimmon seedling started too! Have a few nice old persimmons out back, but they just grow so darn slow. This was a good year for the though, I filled a lot of 5 gallon buckets with the fruit. The raccoons and deer love them.

Gonna have to cage everything I start from now on. Between the deer and squirrels they tear everything up! Had a beautiful sawtooth oak get to about 4 feet, then something ripped the whole thing out and it disappeared!

Do you have any idea where to get Atlantic White Cedar ( seedlings)? or starters like 3' high.... Were under that woodland stewartship program and trying to regenerate some of our cedars...
