Hunting the Caprivi

Hunting the Caprivi

Unread postby njhuntingguide » Wed Apr 08, 2015 3:27 pm

Well to start the hunt I drove to JFK , flew to South Africa Johannesburs then Windhoek Namibia and then u take a little plane to the Caprivi strip Namibia. This takes about 35 hours and its not fun. I went in August so the river dry up alot and it makes the hunting pretty easy because everything within 2 miles of the river it seems. The problem was I had a lic for Elephant and Cape Buffalo but the quota was fill for the year. So I was very piss off at the outfitter. The guy that was leaving the camp when i Got there shot 4 elephant and 5 cape Buffalo and he use up all the tags. But I made best out of the hunt and still had a good time. I didnt hunt to much because my focus of the hunt was mess up. So I mainly video tape for my buddy . He got his first Kudo, water buck and Zebra on the hunt and I got a Hippo,Steen Buck, Water Buck and Giraffe. Also I did some duck hunting which is ridiculous good. If your into big game hunting I think the Caprivi is a place u should check out . The Cape Buffalo are huge there. I saw 7 monster on my hunt . Just wish I could of got one. Next Time

Looks like you had a Great time. 8-) And that hippo looks like a monster in that pic, makes ya look tiny. lol

I wouldn't mind getting one of those Warthogs and i like the Kudu deer. They would be my 2 if i had a choice. :)

Wow...some awesome pics! Did you get all these mounted? What in the world do you do with a Giraffe...I would need to build a room just for it haha.

Good stuff, would love to get to Africa but not sure its in the cards.

Yes I got everything mount it. The giraffe im doing a shoulder mount should have it back pretty soon . Yeah thats what i did put another room on my house. 40' by 20'. Should be big enough for couple more hunting seasons. Im going for north america animals now . So my game room wont be growing fast since it cost so much to hunt in a america.
