Hey quack I remember you saying that and I had to giggle because when I was training my dog they would gobble away almost every time I would blow it. :mrgreen:

I love a great horn owl loc. last season the barred owl and the crow did very good also, but the horned owl I can do with my mouth. I don't always do them but I like them. In have walked into woods expecting the birds to be one place and end up right over me. I think birds will move in the dark for reasons known only to them. a lot of the times if the night had a bad thunder storm they seem to move sometimes. so just a owl hoot and they say here I is, I don't put birds to be to often unless it is the end of the week and I have not seen or gotten a chance at a bird. I just plain do not have time, I prefer to go in at maybe 30 mins before shooting time and do a loc, see where they are at, then go into position knowing most of the time where they will be headed once on the ground. then do the loc and gun thing for the rest of the hunt.
Consistent results does not come from always doing it right, but learning from what was done wrong.

Yes and no most the time i know where the birds are going get there frist my best spot i have birds roost on the next property down where i dont have permission

I usually use a locator call, big advantage knowing for sure where they're roosted.
