First off Welcome,

Next, Is there bass in the pond, catty's, sunnies, crappie, ? What are you going for ?

The fastest way ( if you want to use live bait) is to get some live minnows and see what is out there.

If just interested in catching fish use natural baits, minnows or night crawlers with bobbers

Welcome to the OV. Yes I agree with Tomc. Get on the bank of a pond and throw some live bait out there. Bass love minnows and worms.

Live bait will get em.....but i like the senko worm for its ease of use and effectiveness. I got tired of finding rotten worms in the back of my truck and constantly having to put one on after the little fish tear em up. you may not get as many but the big ones like senkos. In darker stained water i like blk/blue. watermelon and green pumpkin is good when there is clarity...go get em

When fishing live bait, learn to fish a slip bobber. This will allow you to fish various depths with just a slide of the bobber stop.
