The 7mm barks

Unread postby Caveman » Thu Dec 03, 2015 1:41 pm

Opening day in Pennsylvania this season started out with a chilly 24 degrees of northeast weather. Right off the bat I had small bucks walking through as the sun was cresting the mountain ridge . Most of the day I saw a couple does and small bucks running for the cover of the pine forrest behind my stand. As the sun began to set and the darkness was approaching at about 430 this seven point was running down the mountain side chasing a doe . I leveled the cross hairs on him and let the 7mm mag bark . He went down hard but still floundered to get back up so I let him have another ! Happy and excited I was able to get him ! The second day it began to rain and hasn't stopped. This has been a weird season not many big deer around or I'm just doing a lot less hunting . Good luck to you all for next weeks Jersey opener !! I'll be waiting on the pics and stories !!

Outstanding. What kinda gun you use? How about your scent control? What did you have for snacks and reading material? Nice work.

Hey Hooker glad ya asked !! I always start off with a nice turkey sandwich , then I'll pack a few strawberry pop tarts, cookies, snickers and of course icy cold Coke !!! As far as scent control goes I prefer to just use rugged mountain man essence !!! Thanks again bro !!! Oh and 175 grain bullet out of my browning Aboly!!
